ChorifIQ LLC ("we," "our," or "us") provides a family-focused chore and task management application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Platform Age Signals
On supported devices, ChorifIQ may consult platform-provided age signals APIs (such as Apple's Age Assurance APIs or Google Play's equivalent) to inform the age group selection screen. These APIs return only a general indication (adult / teen / child) supplied by the platform; we do not receive, store, or transmit any underlying age verification data. The result is used solely to pre-select an age group on screen — you must still review and confirm your age group before proceeding.
We do not intentionally collect precise geolocation data.
2. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Child accounts require verified parental consent before activation.
You must be at least 18 years old to independently create a family manager account. Accounts for teens (ages 13–17) and children (under 13) may only be created through a minor invite initiated by a verified family manager (parent or legal guardian).
ChorifIQ allows child and teen accounts under parental supervision. A parent or legal guardian must serve as a family manager and provide consent before a minor's account is activated.
Age Group Determination
When a new account is created, ChorifIQ may consult platform-provided age signals (see Platform Age Signals above) to suggest an age group. No data from these platform APIs is collected, stored, or used beyond informing the on-screen suggestion. Every user must explicitly confirm their age group selection before it is saved.

Parental Rights

Deletion of a child account removes the child's personal information from our active systems immediately. Because of the heightened protections that apply to children's data, we also remove child account data from historical backup snapshots as part of our next scheduled compliance processing cycle (typically within 30 days). See the Data Retention section for details.

4. SMS Messaging
We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS opt-in data with any third party for any purpose, including marketing. Your phone number is transmitted only to Twilio solely to deliver the SMS notifications you have opted into.
If you opt in to SMS notifications, ChorifIQ may send transactional text messages to your phone number. Messages are limited to a daily morning chore digest and/or an evening reminder for incomplete chores — up to 2 messages per day. You must opt in to receive these messages by providing your phone number and enabling each notification type in the app.

How We Protect It
Your phone number is stored securely. This mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. It is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party for any purpose. It is transmitted to our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) solely to deliver the notifications you requested and for no other use. All other categories of data sharing exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Opt-Out
You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message, or by disabling SMS notifications within the ChorifIQ app settings. After opting out via keyword you will receive a one-time confirmation message. After opting out, your phone number will no longer be used to send SMS messages.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We share only the information necessary for each provider to perform its function. These providers act as service processors and are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own marketing purposes.
- Supabase — Authentication, database, and file storage. Receives account credentials, profile data (name, email, timezone, role), family and chore activity data, and uploaded photos.
- Firebase (Google) — Push notifications and crash diagnostics. Receives device push notification tokens and anonymized crash and performance data. Firebase does not receive chore or family content.
- RevenueCat — Subscription and entitlement management. Receives your user ID, email address, display name, and subscription and purchase history. Email and display name are used solely for subscriber identification in our dashboard and are not used for marketing.
- Apple App Store & Google Play — In-app purchase processing. Billing is handled entirely by these platforms under their own privacy policies. We receive confirmation of purchase status but do not receive your payment card details.
- Resend — Transactional email delivery. Receives your email address and the content of transactional messages such as chore digests, family invitations, and account notifications.
- Twilio — SMS notification delivery. Receives your mobile phone number solely to deliver the SMS notifications you have opted into. See the SMS Messaging section for full details.
6. Your Privacy Rights
California Residents
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information. We do not sell personal data.
European Users
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, or portability of your data, and withdraw consent at any time.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Chore history is automatically cleaned up based on your family's subscription tier: Free retains 2 months, Pro retains 6 months, and Max retains 2 years. Streak data is preserved independently so members do not lose their streaks when older records are removed.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the ChorifIQ app (Profile → Delete Account) or by submitting a request at chorifiq.app/delete-account. When you delete your account, we immediately remove your personal information — profile, chore history, completion photos, family associations, notification tokens, and authentication credentials — from our active production systems.
Backup Retention
To protect against data loss, we take encrypted backup snapshots of our database on a regular schedule and store them in a secure off-site location. These snapshots are retained on a tiered schedule: recent snapshots are kept at weekly granularity, older snapshots at monthly granularity, and long-term snapshots at quarterly or annual granularity, with the longest-retained snapshots kept for up to several years for disaster recovery purposes.
Backup snapshots are never used for any purpose other than disaster recovery. If we ever restore from a backup following an incident, any account you have deleted is automatically re-deleted as part of the restore process; deleted accounts are not brought back to life by a restore. Over time, older snapshots containing your data are overwritten and expire per the schedule above.
Immediate Erasure from Backups
If you require your data to be removed from backup snapshots as well as from active systems — for example, when exercising the right to erasure under GDPR Article 17, the CCPA, or a COPPA parental revocation request — you may submit a formal erasure request by emailing [email protected] from the email address associated with your account (or, for parental requests, the parent email on file for a child account). Please state clearly that you are requesting immediate erasure from backups and identify the legal framework under which you are making the request. We process these requests within 30 days, consistent with the applicable regulation's deadlines.
Because children's data is subject to heightened protections under COPPA, we treat every deletion of a child account as a formal erasure request and remove the child's data from backup snapshots as part of our next scheduled compliance processing cycle, without requiring the parent to submit a separate request.
8. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
